Web Site Development - Your best marketing tool

Brochures and print media provide a wealth of information, but they become outdated as soon as they are printed. A well-designed Web site offers all of the advantages of high quality print advertising, but on a much larger scale for a lot less money. Prospective clients have access to your message 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your Web site is easier to change and more cost effective than other forms of advertising. A well designed site keeps you on the cutting edge with the strategic marketing necessary in today's business world.

Reach millions of potential customers quickly and economically

Establishing a presence on the Web allows you to offer instant access to detailed information about your company, product and services. You can also create the opportunity for interactive communication, an effective way to forge relationships with prospects and strengthen ties with existing clients.

Site Design

When you are ready to have a Web site created, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire that will give an insight as to the purpose of your Web site and what you'd like included. We will meet with you personally for a no obligation meeting to discuss your thoughts and requirements or, if you are not local, your needs will be discussed by phone or on-line. After the interview, you will be given a free written quote on your Web site design. Once you sign off on the quote and make a small down payment, the creative process begins. Some designers nickel and dime you with fees for different services. At Boyer Web Design, every Web site is customized to your specific requirements. There are no hidden costs.

Once the initial version of your Web site is created, it will be published it to a temporary URL so you can view and critique it. Appropriate changes will be made and it will be republished so you can evaluate it again. Once you're happy with your Web site, it will be published it to a domain of your choice. You will own the content and you will be provided with a copy of the code on disk to which you can make changes. Or you may prefer to have your site maintained by Boyer Web Design, keeping it updated with the latest technology and up-to-the-minute information about your business that you provide.

"Business Card" Web Page

Some individuals or businesses desire nothing more than a simple "business card" approach with a single page and no links to other pages. A sub-domain can accomplish this minimalist method for those on a budget who want a Web presence. Rather than pay for a domain name and the cost of a Web host, "Pete's Pizza Parlor" might rather have a simple sub-domain at Boyer Web Design where the URL might be boyerwebdesign.com/pizza. The yearly charge for a "Business Card" page would be $50. Your initial page creation may be as inexpensive as $100 and will usually include a basic overview of your business with your logo and/or a good graphic or appropriate photo.

Standard Web Site

A fully developed conventional Web site with multiple pages, judicious use of photos, appropriate external links, etc. equals more creative time and thus more money. This is why we prefer to give you an overall estimate of cost on an individual basis.
There is no "typical" Web site. Each project is unique. Design time depends on a number of factors, such as:

  • How soon we meet to develop your individual plan.
  • How soon the quote is signed off on and a deposit is made.
  • How quickly you provide the content needed to build your Web site properly.
  • Our development schedule.

Your original quote will not be exceeded unless you give prior approval. The good news is that we can usually begin to get your content live within days of receiving a deposit, and your Web site can be posted live on the Internet in stages.

Web Site Maintenance

Your Web site is finally live. What now? Some make the mistake of letting their site stagnate. If there is no change in content, clients have little reason to return. We recommend an events calendar, a "What's New" column, an e-mail newsletter, or some other regularly updated section for your site. We will be happy to do that for you at $50 per hour. You will only be billed for the actual time used i.e. if it only takes a half-hour to update, you'll only be charged $25.

Technical Jargon

Is that technical gobbledygook not in your vocabulary? Not sure what a URL or domain are? We'll discuss your Web site in either general or technical terms depending on your familiarity with technology.

Follow the internal link to "Nuts and Bolts" on the left side navigation area for a mini-tech dictionary with detailed explanations of search engines, meta-tags and much more. Find out why they are important for you to understand to help in the development of your Web site.

Survey Says...

As an indicator of online’s impact on offline behavior, an AOL/Roper ASW Cyberstudy cited that 8 in 10 online consumers regularly or occasionally go online to get information about products to buy (78%). In addition, nearly 6 in 10 (58%) agreed “going online is a part of the research process before making any major purchase, like a television or car.” What’s more, the longer they are online, the more likely consumers are to consider online integral to research; Seventy-one percent of those online 5 or more years agreed, compared to 49 percent of those online less than 2 years.

A Jupiter Consumer Survey: Retail (November 19, 2001) study attests that for every dollar consumers spend online, another 5 dollars of offline sales are influenced by their online research. Studies of “power users”—consumers who have been online for 5 years or more—demonstrates the degree to which online impacts offline purchase habits:

  • More than three-quarters (76%) conduct research online to find the price they can expect to pay for a product offline.
  • More than two-thirds (69%) use online information to help them select the product they want.
  • More than one-half (51%) select a specific manufacturer or brand based on research they conduct online.

Time for you to take advantage of the Web and Internet to promote your business!
